Witold Charatonik, PhD, professor at the University of Wroclaw. Born in 1966, in Wroclaw, Poland. Graduated in mathematics in 1989 and in computer science in 1991, both from the University of Wroclaw. PhD in Mathematics in 1995 from Polish Academy of Sciences. Habilitation in computer science in 2002 from the Saarland University and in 2003 from the University of Wroclaw. Professor degree from the President of Poland in 2012.

Since 1990 in the Institute of Computer Science, University of Wroclaw. Since October 1995 to September 2002 in Max-Planck Institut für Informatik, Saarbrücken, Germany. 2002-2005 a vice director of the institute for teaching affairs. 2005-2008 deputy dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. Since 2013 head of the Programming Languages Group.
