STEREO-SCOPIC EDITOR
This page contains:
There is also
page containing
the OLD version for LINUX with sources
and the
page
with some pictures
prepared with the editor and renedred by
POVRAY.
(You will need the
red-blue or red-green glasses
to use the editor.)
STEREOSCOPIC EDITOR - new binaries for LINUX
HERE IS THE NEWEST VERSION OF THE STEREO-SCOPIC EDITOR
THAT IS COMPILED FOR LINUX WITH
LESSTIF
0.82. IT IS LICENSED: FREE FOR NON-COMMERCIAL USE.
THE FILES
(tared and gziped binary programs only.
After down-loading the file to your 'bin' directory execute
the command:
tar zxvf file_name.tgz
Only one file - the binary program- will be extracted.
You need the Lesstif library to run the program):
The new version has following advantages over the previous one:
- There are new view modes that let you display the designed object
in colors. (The best one is the BSP shade view mode.)
The binary space partition trees are used.
- There are four independent cameras, that let you set four
views of the edited object, and switch from one view to another.
- The perspective exporting to xfig is sensitive to current view
mode. You may obtain color and shaded perspective in xfig
by exporting in BSP-shade mode.
- The coordinates of vertices of the mesh of triangles exported
to POVRAY
are NOT transformed to the observers coordinate system.
Instead the POVRAY camera is transformed to get the same view that
we had during exporting.
It enables you to merge the the mesh of triangles from the exported file
with other Povray input file without troubles with coordinates
of the vertices.
- All vertices contained in the subset #LIGHT# are exported as the light
sources to the POVRAY format.
- Only the currently visible subset is exported to all other
formats.
- You may shift the cursor in either X,Y or Z direction by given
distance just by typing the value of the distance followed by + or -
in the appropriate cursor coordinate window.
- You may find with the cursor the point that is intersection of
a plane and a line. (Use the INTERSECT button and a cursor to
indicate the two points of the line (E1 and E2) and three points
of the plane (T1,T2, and T3).
- You may scale the OBSERVER RECEIVER. This does not change the designed
object.
- You may insert transparent triangles to split the space so that
the BSP tree in BSP view modes becomes smaller. It requires some
knowledge about BSP trees. The transparent triangles are used
before any other triangles in the construction of BSP tree.
- The latest version works in both True-color and Pseudo-color modes.
STEREOSCOPIC EDITOR - DOS version
Here is a version of the editor and the viewer
for DOS
system with some examples and the english manual:
The file is also available from the
Simtel.Net
at the address:
ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/msdos/graphics/gmk1a.zip
Experimental stereoscopic viewer for the shutter glasses (DOS version):
The
VGI.ZIP
file contains the graph viewer vgi.exe that can display the
picture in the interlaced mode for the
shutter glasses.
To switch between the view modes press the 'm' key.
Stereoscopic 3D Puzzles Game (DOS version):
Download the file
PG.ZIP
and use the "pkunzip -d pg.zip" command.
The files will be stored in the "pg" subdirectory.
The program should work on the pentium PC with SVGA.
The DOS script "runme.bat" starts the program with the colors
tuned to the
Reel 3-D red-blue glasses.
