To celebrate its 50th anniversary, ACM introduced in 1996 a series of State-of-the-Art Summer Schools in Computer Science in Eastern and Central European countries. After two schools on functional and object oriented programming in Sobótka (1996) and Jadwisin (1997), this is the third one organized by the Institute of Computer Science, University of Wroclaw.
